Santa’s Igloos Arctic Circle | Finland

Santa's Igloos Arctic Circle in Finnish Lapland

If you are traveling to Finnish Lapland you *need* to put “stay in a glass igloo” on your To Do list! You do not want to miss out on this amazing experience! Santa’s Igloos in the Arctic Circle are located in the perfect spot to enjoy all the must do activities… visit Santa Claus Village and meet Santa, take a reindeer sleigh ride, hang out with the super cute huskies, go snowmobiling, etc. You might even catch a glimpse of the northern lights during your stay!

Getting there from Helsinki:

There are a few ways to get to Rovaniemi from Helsinki. We decided to take a flight to get there the quickest. With it being just a short 1hr 20min flight, you’ll be there in no time!

After arriving, it is very easy to get to the Igloos from the airport. The hotel does offer a transfer, but make sure you arrange it at least 1 week before your stay. You can easily do this by emailing the hotel. We did not do this in time, I was 1 day late, so upon our arrival we did have to take a taxi.

The Igloos:

This igloo hotel offers 71 igloos which are open year round. We booked the Premium Igloo for 1 night and were very happy with the accommodations.

Probably my favorite feature included in the igloo was a tablet which you can use as an “aurora alarm”. Meaning, you can set it to alert you if the northern lights become visible during the night while you are asleep. Unfortunately we did not see the northern lights during our stay, but these igloos would have been a great place to view them!
