Introdruce yourself
hey there….i’m terra naomi. how’s that for an introduction?
Can you play anything other than the guitar?
I play piano and i used to play French horn, though it’s been a while.
Are you in the progress of working on a new cd?
Yes.
Have you been looking into labels?
A bunch of labels recently contacted me, so i’m in the process of talking to them.
What was it like touring with Tyler Hilton and Adam Richman?
It was a blast. Tyler and I are playing a show together in December and I’m really excited – it’s been way too long since our last one.
Last summer you did your own solo tour-what was it like being on your own and doing shows across the country?
It was crazy. I drove something like 9000 miles in 6 weeks. Did all the driving myself, loaded my gear into the venues, played the show, sold my own merchandise, packed up my car and drove on to the next town or some crappy hotel off the highway wherever i happened to be at the time…it was a really difficult experience. But I’m so happy that I was able to do it.
How did you get the opportunity to record “Clean” for Sherry Baby?
The person in charge of putting together the soundtrack invited me to a screening and asked if I had any songs I would like to submit. I did, but the next morning I wrote something that i thought would be perfect for the soundtrack. I recorded a demo of that song, sent it to him and it ended up on the soundtrack.
Do you write your own music or do you work with someone?
I usually write on my own. I’ve co-written about 5 out of over 100. The songs I co-wrote are good songs, but I don’t really perform them anymore – I think I’m just more connected to the songs I write on my own.
What are you hoping 2007 bring for your career?
I think it’s going to be an amazing year for me, careerwise. I have a lot going on that I can’t talk about right now, but it’s all exciting.
