Introduce yourself:
Hey everybody! We are Take Cover from Minneapolis, MN!
-How did you guys get together & where did the bands name come from?
Odin and I met in Duluth, MN back in the metal and hardcore scene up there. Most of us knew Derek from his previous band Trace The Skyline. We met Ryan and Brady through a friend who knew we were looking for some members to start a new band.
We were all hanging out one night and somewhere along the night we watched an acoustic performance of Acceptance playing their track Take Cover. We thought it just fit the sound and style we were going for.
-Who are some of your influences:
We are a very musically diverse band. Between the five of us we listen to pretty much every genre of music. I would say collectively we enjoy bands like anberlin, paramore, and blink 182
-Your Acoustic EP ”Waiting In The Moment” came out earlier this year, can you tell us a bit about it and where people can get a copy:
We decided last year that while at home for the winter we wanted to give our fans a stripped down version of Take Cover. We had a couple ideas for new songs that we felt would best be captured in acoustic and piano format. The EP is just a digital release that is now available on itunes.
-What is your fav song on the EP?
We like the title track “Waiting in the Moment” because it captures the drive we put forth to do what we love.
-Fav. song to perform live?
Everyone in the band has their favorite but collectively I would have to say Escape Artists is pretty fun because it’s our fastest song.
-Who is someone you would like to work with or play a show with in the future?
We always love playing with our boys in Sing It Loud but for bands we have not toured with that we would like to… Anberlin, Mayday Parade, Paramore
-What was your fav. tv show while growing up?

–What is 1 song -or- CD you own, that may be embarrassing to admit to?

-Most embarrassing moment while performing:
chad – In high school I played on a stage that was about a foot off the ground. I thought it would cool to go off the front of the stage and rock out. When I turned to get back on stage my foot caught the lip of the stage and I biffed it. Pretty funny when I look back on it.
ryan – microphone cable falling out of the bottom of my microphone
odin – not having my guitar cab mic’d while playing to a sold out crowd
brady – getting leg wrapped in a cable losing my shoe and almost falling on my face.
derek – hitting my self in the face with my stick
-Fav. movie of all time
chad – The Princess Bride
ryan – nightmare before xmas
odin – bye bye birdie
brady – half baked
derek – that thing you do
–If you had to live off of only one meal for the rest of your life, what would it consist of?
chad – Hotdish
ryan – sushi

I like calling people I never had a cell phone growing up so texting was not an option. It is a more personal way to connect to people but not always possible because of us having crazy schedules.
