-Introduce yourselves:
Hey whats up we are Summerlin. And I’m Jake the bassist.
-How did the band get started
The band originally started with Me and Drew (vocals) We got talking over the internet. Both the bands we were riginally in had kinda broken up so we decided to follow what we wanted to do which was start a pop punk band. We have had a few line up changes and eventually got the 5 members we have today.
-Where did the bands name “Summerlin” come from?
Summerlin is a town in Las Vegas, i used to visit a lot and thought that it would make a sick band name.
-Who are some of your influences?
Bands such as Blink 182, NFG etc
-Your new EP “So Make Your Move” was just released on June 15th, can you tell us a bit about it? What is your favorite song from the album?
We just released the EP and are truly sooo stoked with the outcome. It took months of production and changing ideas and changing parts, for just 4 songs it was a lot of hard work. It was recorded over a period of 2 weeks @ Axis studios in Doncaster.
My personal favourite is ‘I’ve got a future and your not in it’, it was the latest song we wrote and its just a real well structured song.
-Do you have any tour plans for the remainder or 2009? Any chance of some shows in the US?
Yeah we plan to tour from October onwards with a few shows at the end of August beginning of September.
Hopefully we will be over in the US next year.
-What are some of your favorite songs to play live?
I love playing i call the shots. It has a huge intro and catchy chorus.
-What band/artist would you like to play a show with in the future?
We would love to go on tour with the boys from You me at 6. There an awesome band and the crowds would be insane.
-Most embarrassing moment onstage or off:
I guess the most embarassing things that happen to us is we fall over onstage a lot. We tend to just laugh it off.
-Besides your influences, who are some of your favorite bands/artist?
Personally my favourite all time artist is Mark Hoppus. The guy is a legend and a talented songwriter, and overall just a cool dude haha
-Best concert you have ever attended?
Possibly one of the best shows i’ve been to was when my old band played with Enter Shikari at London Astoria. It was an epic show and they were soooooo good live.
-What is something about each of you that people would be surprised to know?
I love cooking programs, Lee is a huge pokemon fan, Drew is a total geek, Ben knits and Liam is a mechanic.
-What was your favorite T.V. show while growing up?
Teenage mutant ninja turtles. Classic
-Best movie you have seen recently:
Last movie i went to see was ermmmmmmm The Yes man i think, Jim Carrey is a legend.
-Who is your celebrity crush?
Hahaha Sienna Miller
-Most embarrassing CD you own:
Something like dance hits 94 or something daft
