Kelly-Lynn Interview | Put Me in the Picture | May 2008

*Can you introduce yourself?
Sure, I’m Kelly-Lynn. I’m a hard worker and Music is my passion and I will never give-up on it.

*Who are your inspirations?
Barry Manilow,Crystal Lewis, Mandy Moore,Charlotte Church,my amazing family and Most of all Jesus Christ!

*Did you always want to be in the music business?
When I was ten years old, I Was the lead in a school play and I had to sing a lot. Ever since then I knew I wanted to be a singer. I told my parents and they supported me 100%.I started singing in Church and Stuff.

*At age 12, you had a song that hit 60 stations across the country, what was the song and how did you feel when that happened?
The Song is called “I believe”. The first time I heard myself on the radio…wow…I was so happy. I felt like all my hard work had finally paid off. My family and I were sitting by the radio and we were all so thrilled.

*You’re from Florida, did you make the move out to LA or do you still reside in the sunshine state?
I moved to LA and I visit FL sometimes.

*You’ve had the opportunity to work with a lot of well known names-who did you have the most fun with and who did you learn the most from? WOW, thats a hard one. I’ve learned a lot from everyone. Luise Ryan(Charlotte Church’s Vocal coach),taught me a lot about the discipline of singing. It’s a lot of technical training that is involved and she helped a lot with that. Ron Dante(Barry Manilow, Archies) is awesome. I’ve recorded a lot with him and every time we work together it’s so much fun. He has a great gift for music and he really inspires me. Working For Walt Disney records was a great experience as well. All the people are so nice and laid back.

*You got the opportunity to be on the 101 dalmations soundtrack, can you tell us a little bit about that and how it came up?
I had a meeting with Disney about 2 years before I recorded the 101 Dalmatians song. I did a couple other projects for them before The 101 dalmatians, so when they needed a singer for the song “little Puppy” they thought of me. It was so much fun and while I was singing the song..I had a picture of my dog Ziggy in the recording studio with me, so the song is definitely dedicated to him.:)

*Is it hard to stay grounded at your age with the tabloids and artists around your age that are having such a hard life?
No, not at all. I don’t worry about other people. I mean that has nothing to do with me and the life I’m living. My family, friends and my church really help me stay grounded and I’m really thankful for people like that in my life.

*You’re truly an inspiration to many girls your age and younger, how does it feel to be able to do what you love but still work in your church? I’m so thankful That I have the opportunity to sing as my job….it’s awesome. Working at my church daycare is such a blessing as well. I love Kids, and I’m glad I can be there to help.

*Do you have anything coming up that you’d like to tell us about? Tour? CD? Well I’m doing a Show for Six Flags Magic Mountain in July. I have some stuff coming up that I can’t say much about but lets just say…..be looking for me around Christmas time;)

*Do you have a message to your fans?
Thanks for all of your Support! Without people who believe in me, I wouldn’t be anywhere. Remember, everyone of you has a gift…you just have to find it and use it and NEVER give up!
