Introduce yourself

Hey, I’m Katelynne Cox, I’m 14 years old and live in Camas, Washington and I am a Pop Singer!!

When did you start singing/performing?

I’ve been singing before I could talk…but my first performance was when I was 5 years old, and I was cast as Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz at Children’s World of Music

Your CD “Unbelievable” is out now-how excited are you that you have a CD complete and available for people to buy?

Oh my gosh, I am super excited and I can’t wait for people to listen to it and I hope they enjoy it as much as I do! Hurry — go download it now at iTunes or through CDbaby.com!!

Do you plan to do shows around the country this year?

Specifically, I plan to do a several shows in the Pacific Northwest, but if for some reason an opportunity takes me else where, I will jump on it. My greatest passion is singing and performing and there is nothing I’d rather be doing!

What all can we expect from Katelynne in 2009?

Now, this what I am really excited about. I am currently, working on some new songs with Song Writer and Producer, Aaron Rice. I also just had a new photo shoot that I cannot wait to release. In May, I am shooting my first music video. We just finished up auditions for that last weekend and I am so excited where the director is taking this video and WAIT until you see the dancers. They are amazing. I’m totally pumped about it. You can actually get a little sneak peak at www.youtube.com/katelynnecox

Have you ever considered a career in acting?

Yes, of course and I have. I love acting too. I’m in Les Miserables which will debut in Portland, OR on April 17, 2009! I was the lead in Cinderella (as Cinderella) in 2008 and as Dorothy in Wizard of Oz!

Who are your inspirations?

My family is my biggest support and greatest inspiration. I actually have two sets of parents and 4 little siblings. 3 sisters and 1 brother! I’m so blessed to have a Mom and a Dad that love and support me to the core and that each of them found equally as supportive partners! They mean everything to me and they encourage me to keep reaching for my dreams!! Also, one person that has continued to support me and teach me things far greater than what I could imagine is my Executive Producer, Darren Bowls. Something I always live by, is what he told me. “You haven’t failed until you’ve quit” that means so much to me and I hope it inspires all of you too. I know, that I will keep pushing and pushing and do the best that I can.

If you could work with anyone (dead or alive) who would it be?

Definitely, Frank Sinatra because his music is so beautiful!!

What would you like to accomplish in your career?

I would love to be able to accomplish a world tour at some point!! Hopefully before I am 20.

But, I’d also love to be able to reach and connect with my listeners through my music. I want people to be able to relate to what I am singing. If I can do that, that would be my proudest accomplishment!

Do you have anything you’d like to share with the readers and your fans?

I would first and foremost like to say THANK YOU!!! I can not believe the overwhelming amount of encouragement and support I’ve been given throughout my career so far. My hope is that you will be able to relate to my songs and music!! I can not say enough, how much I appreciate your support!!!

I’m excited about what the future will hold and I hope that you will continue to follow my career and that I keep it fun and exciting for you too! I want my fans to be proud of me, as much as I am proud of them!!

Who is your favorite band/singer?

That’s a difficult one, because I appreciate so many different types of music. I don’t think I could pick just one. I love everything from Classical to Country, Christian, to Instrumental and Rock to Techno. I love MySpace and YouTube, because I get introduced to so many different artist that are really amazing!!

Where do you like to shop?

Betsy Johnson, Studio 7, Nashville Clothing Company and anywhere on Melrose!!

What do you like to do in your free time?

I play soccer and softball. I take aviation lessons. I love boating, reading Twilight and Cheerleading. I also love to fish with my Dad!

You recently went to Nashville-tell us about the trip!

Gosh, well, getting there was a real adventure. We left from Seattle and the flight was an hour and a half late…which put us into Chicago late. So, we missed our connecting flight. So, we had to fly stand-by and when they called our names, only two of us could get on. So, My Mom and my little sister went onto Nashville and My step-Dad and I waited for the next flight. After a 6 hour wait — only one of us could get on, so we ended up staying the night in Chicago and taking the first flight out to Nashville the next morning. Arriving around 6:30 AM I was tired. I spent most of my time out there in meetings, shopping, a photo shoot and talking with Aaron Rice about new music and a new direction.

I had the opportunity to meet with Britney Hargest of Jump 5 and her parents! They were amazing people. So kind and so easy to talk to. I found myself sitting across the table from Britney and I was nervous, LOL! I have looked up to her since I was 6 years old and here I was sitting and having dinner with her!! It was great! A dream come true for me!

My Manager, Derek Bruner was fantastic. He took such good care of me ~ I really enjoyed the time I spent with Derek and his wife, Bonnie. They are amazing people!!

It was a quick 5 days and I wish I could have spent more time there, but I had to get back home for the final two days of auditions for my music video! Again, you can get a sneak peak at www.youtube.com/katelynnecox

Do you have a message for your fans and the readers?

My Message would be that I appreciate all of you so much and if it wasn’t for your support through email, MySpace, YouTube, fan mail, etc…I just don’t know where I’d be. I thank God everyday for putting me in this role, through music. I hope that you find me to be very true and a good role model, because I strive every day to be the best I can be. Don’t forget, “You haven’t failed, until you’ve quit”!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, so much!!! Please continue to message me via MySpace, YouTube or through my fan mail address: 19215 SE 34th Street, Ste 106-304, Camas, WA 98607.

As I start on some new songs, I hope that they will inspire you, the way they have me! I’m so excited to share these experiences with all of you!! God Bless!!
