My Stay at Flamingo Cancun Resort
This was my 2nd stay at Flamingo Cancun Resort and would absolutely recommend it for your vacation to Cancun! This resort doesn’t have all the bells and whistles as some of the bigger, fancier resorts here, so if that is what you are looking for this might not be the place for you. But for a nice getaway on a beautiful beach, all inclusive options and beautiful grounds, this will meet your needs.
One thing I love about this resort is the pools. I usually spend my mornings/afternoons at the ocean view pool, it seems to be a little less crowded than the main pool. I never have a hard time finding a lounger to use. Even today I was the ONLY person at this pool until about 1030am, which is crazy! I know some resorts you have to get up at sunrise just to get a chair to use for the day… not here!
This is also true for the beach area. Tons of chairs to choose from. I could go down to the beach at any time during the day and always find an empty lounger to use.Â
For those of you looking to take some cool Instagram photos, there are many spots at the resort that are great for this! They have their own colorful “Cancun” sign, swings at the ocean view bar + near the kids zone on your way to the beach. Also on the beach you will find the “Cancun hammocks” (see photos below)
As mentioned above I stayed in a standard room. I don’t spend too much time in the room so I didn’t feel the need to spend any extra for an upgrade aside from purchasing the all-inclusive option. When booking it only cost me an extra .69 cents per day to have all inclusive, so obviously that was a no brainer!Â
I stayed in room #461. The room was very spacious. My only recommendations would be: 1) a full length mirror! Not really a necessity, but for a girl trying to get ready it’s nice to have. 2) more electrical outlets!! I was surprised at how few there were. I could only find 1 in the bathroom and 1 in the main room. Which you can totally make work, but was a bit annoying when you have multiple things you want to charge/plug in.Â
(See video above in the “accommodations section” to see the room I was in.)
Now on to the food… I will admit, nothing special. For the price of this resort though I knew in advance not to expect gourmet meals. Plus with it being such a good deal, it leaves room to grab dinner outside the resort and not feel like I’m spending too much money. There are so many restaurants along the strip it’s nice to get out and try those too!
For beachfront dining the resort has “Albatros” Restaurant. I have not had the chance to check it out yet, I always forget to make reservations, so I am unable to comment on the food there. For most of my meals I had in the buffet “La Fuente” (breakfast and dinner). Lunch I always get the pizza at Don Roberto’s. You must try it during your stay!
Overall, I really enjoy staying at this resort. I like that it’s not super busy everywhere I turn and can relax and enjoy a quiet day. I’ve been to Cancun so many times I don’t need all the daytime activities and nightly entertainment. Yes, it is nice, but I don’t have to have it every time I come here.Â
Big shoutout to the staff, they all have been very friendly and helpful during my stay!

A couple tips for your Cancun trip!
Use the public transportation! The buses are super cheap (about $1 USD, I’ll find out the amount in pesos and update the blog post accordingly!) and run up and down the hotel zone 24/7. There are stops everywhere. For this resort, there is a stop right outside, plus an additional one across the street next to Bubba Gump. So convenient!Â
Bring an insulated tumbler. Believe me, you will be happy you did! It’s HOT and your drink will melt in about 3 minutes. Have them make a drink in your tumbler, it will stay cold much longer.
Book a hotel transfer ahead of time instead of jumping in a taxi once you land at the airport. It’s much cheaper. I usually book through Speedy Shuttle. It costs about $15 roundtrip and it 100% worth it. I do the shared shuttle, but you can also do a private one which will cost more.
