Can you introduce yourself?
HI I’m 14 year old singer/songwriter Bre Morgan.
When did you decide being in the music industry was something you wanted to do?
I have wanted to be a performer for as long as I can remember. I was begging my parents to put me in talent shows as young as age 6. I have always enjoyed entertaining people.
Who has inspired you to be where you are today?
I have a lot of musical and personal influences including first and foremost my parents who have always been supportive of me. There are so many people who have helped me along the way that I would hate to start naming names because I would hate to forget to mention someone.
You’ve been given the opportunity to perform with some of music’s top performers such as Jordan Knight of NKOTB, Jeff Timmons of 98 Degrees, Jump5, Alex Band of The Calling and Robbie Carrico of Boyz N Girlz United but more recently known for his time on American Idol and will be performing with many more-such as The Naked Brothers Band, Jordin Sparks, and Drew Seeley. What is it like for you getting these amazing opportunities?
Any time I have an opportunity to perform in front of people is pretty special. It’s a great feeling that I am even mentioned in the same breath as such great performers as those and an honor to get to perform with them.
What was it like getting the opportunity to perform at KidzDay as part of the Super Bowl’s NFL Experience?
It was amazing and chaotic all at once. There were so many kids there and they were very enthusiastic to see me there, so it was a real thrill, but it got a little crazy when the show was over with all the kids trying to rush me.
If you could perform with anyone who would it be?
Probably Celine Dion. Not because our styles are anything alike, because we are not, but because of her amazing level of talent and her incredible voice.
You’ve moved to LA-how has the adjustment been for you?
I spend about half my time in LA and about half in Florida. I think because I get to go back home to Florida so regularly, the adjustment has been pretty easy.
How is it for you knowing songs you wrote about personal experiences and your life have made it to your album “Lost inside Myself”?
It’s been great. You know as an artist you hope that you can release music that speaks about who you are as an person and you hope that people can relate to the songs in some way.
What can we expect from Bre Morgan in 2009?
I’m writing new songs and will have a full length CD done soon. We are concentrating on that right now .I will be hosting the nationally syndicated The Daily Buzz show on April 7th and I will be releasing new songs and videos throughout the year.
Is there a tour in the works?
We haven’t started planning a full tour yet although I do have a pretty busy March and April already planned.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Paint my nails, make homemade jewelry and spend a lot of free time answering fan mail, MySpace messages and stuff like that.
If you were to put your ipod on shuffle what are 5 songs likely to play?
I’m not really sure, I listen to so many different styles of music there is no way I could pick 5. I’ve been writing a lot of new music lately, so I try not to listen to anything while I’m writing. I don’t want to accidently be influenced by something I hear.
Do you have a message for your fans?
Yes, thank you so much for all the support you have shown me. I hope you will vote for me in the next round of Radio Disney’s Next Big Thing. Your support means a lot to me.
