-Introduce Yourself:
My name is Matt Trentadue and I’m the singer, guitarist and songwriter for the band My Lost Remedy.
-How did you get your start?
I got my start with music from my father Michael Trentadue Jr. After years of writing and recording with him I started to grow musically and in a different direction and that’s when wrote the first My Lost Remedy album and soon formed the band with Anthony Benedetto and Mike Snyder.
-Who are some of your influences?
My influences are The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Depeche Mode, Radiohead and U2 which are also the influences for our band too.
-How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before?
Our music consists of emotional vocals with melodic harmonies, spacey guitars along with driven guitars, bass and drums. It’s a very Rock/Pop sound that goes into some experimental tangents.
-Do you have any music available for purchase, & if so where can people go to buy it?
At the moment our new album is available on iTunes and in November it will also be available in CD format on our website www.MyLostRemedy.com as well as at shows. We also have a self-titled album released in 2010 that is available on iTunes and at shows on CD. Also soon to be available on our website too.
-Fav. song to perform?
My favorite song from our catalog to perform is “Catch Me If I Fall” which was written by my father Michael Trentadue Jr. It’s a beautiful sad song which makes me think of how much I miss him. My favorite rock one from our catalog would be “Run.” There is a lot of energy in that song live and on the album. Plus it’s one that people usually sing along with in the audience.
-What is the most embarrassing thing that’s happened to you while performing?
It’s a tossup between one time forgetting the words to “A Perfect Moment” when it was still a new one and this time that I had my amp settings incorrect when starting to use the ebow on a song and it made this really loud awful sound. But it all works out and becomes a good memory.
-Who is someone you would like to work with or play a show with in the future?
The list is endless with that. There are so many great musicians out there known and unknown. Some people I would love to work with in a studio would be Beck, The Flaming Lips, Trent Reznor and Thom Yorke.
-Fav. band/artist of all time:
That would be The Beatles. I can listen to them any day, whatever type of mood I am in. I am a big fan of vocal harmonies.
-What is something people may be surprised to find out about you?
I once played in a Beatles and a Pink Floyd tribute band. Those were some very fun times and all the people involved and who came down were so nice.
-What is 1 thing you would really like to see or do in your lifetime?
I have always been fascinated by the pyramids. I would love to see those. Also becoming popular enough to be able to perform for charities where our music can help make a difference. A concert opening for Depeche Mode would also be a dream come true.
-Since it’s almost Halloween, growing up what was your best Halloween costume?
My best Halloween costume was probably the time I was a vampire, because I put so much time into preparing the whole costume and makeup. It came out great.
-First concert you ever attended?
My first concert I attended which was at the Jones Beach Theatre and featured PJ Harvey, which was a very awesome show. She also performed with Live and Veruca Salt. The weather was great that night which is important for an outdoor venue.
-What was your fav. cartoon or tv show while growing up?
Growing up my favorite cartoon to watch was “Tom and Jerry.” It was just so funny and at the same time aggravating to watch. My favorite cartoon character is Marvin The Martian. Favorite TV show then and will always be “The Twilight Zone.”
