Joey Page Interview | Put Me in the Picture | Jan. 2008

*Introduce yourself and give the readers a brief overview of what you do.
Hi my name is Joey Page and I’m 17 years old and just a regular guy,
but I’m also a pop singer pursuing a dream.

*What made you decide you wanted to be in the music industry?
Singing is something I’ve always wanted to do. When I was younger I was
doing acting projects with Nickelodeon, ABC, VH1 , and a lot of other
networks. Through one of the acting jobs I met a producer and he really
revived my passion for music. Now that I’ve been working in this
industry I’ve fallen in love with it. So even if I can’t be on stage
performing music I’d still love to work behind the scenes on the
business side of it.

*Do you have an upcoming tour in the works?

Yes there is tons of stuff in the works right now and by the sounds of  it I’ll be getting to see a lot of the US in 2008!

*What is your goal for 2008?
Well 2007 was an awesome year for me. Lots of awesome opportunities
presented itself during 2007 and my career advanced in ways I never
expected. I’m hoping 2008 will be a very good year for me
career-wise. I’ll be releasing a CD, and touring across the nation in
2008. I’m really looking forward to meeting more of my myspace friends
this year.

*What has been the greatest opportunity thus far in your career?
I would have to say the opportunity to perform with the Jonas Brothers
because so many new people have heard about my music from performing
with them. They have some of the best fans out there and those fans
have really been amazing and very supportive of me.

*Who was the “coolest” or “biggest” person you’ve gotten the chance to work with?
I would have to say Andrew Lane. He is one of the producers I have been
working with and by far one of my favorite people in this industry.
He’s worked with just about everyone in pop music and has had 14
platinum records. I really respect him and appreciate everything he’s
been doing for me. It’s an awesome feeling to know someone so big in
this business really believes in me.  I was able to create some of my
best songs so far thanks to him and I can’t wait for everyone to hear
them.

*Are you still trying to get used to everyone wanting autographs and pictures with you, or are you pretty used to it?
I don’t know if I’ll ever get use to it, but I enjoy it a lot!  I love
meeting my friends from myspace and taking myspace photos.

*Fan encounters…everyone has that ONE story that sticks out the most…what is yours? (can be good or bad)
Ummm…..Lets see while I was on the mall tour I sang to a girl
once and it was just one or two words and as soon as I did she fainted.
I was like wowww did I just really make her do that.  I felt so bad.  I
tried to find her after the show but they took her out and I never got to talk to her to see if she was alright.

*You’ve been given the chance to open for some of today’s biggest artists (Paula DeAnda, Baby Bash, Sean Kingston, Jump5 and The Jonas Brothers) what have those experiences been like? Do you get nervous before you perform with such a well know artsit?
Yes those experiences have been amazing! I thought it was unreal to be
sitting in a dressing room next to these celebrities I’ve seen all over
TV, and magazines.  They were all very nice and I learned a lot from
those shows as well.  Sometimes I get nervous like a minute before I
start a show but as soon as I get on the stage its all gone and my
nerves become excitement.

*You just spent about 2 weeks in LA, what did you spend most of your time doing?
I’ve been back and forth to LA about 5 or 6 times over the past couple
months. For the most part I’ve been recording all new music. Its still
similar to the sound I had before but these songs are more personal to
me. I feel like I’ve grown up and experienced a lot over the past few
months and I wanted to convey that in my new music.  I basically worked
around the clock while I was there the last time.  I spent most of the
time in the recording studio and then when I wasn’t at the recording
studio I was in the dance studio working on some new choreography for
the new songs.  I was able to work at the famous Millennium Dance
Studio and at Debbie Reynolds studio, which is really cool when you
think about all of the really famous great artists who have worked
there in the past.

*Do you plan releasing a CD anytime soon or are you still working on newer material for that?
I plan on releasing a single sometime this spring. We’re actually going
to let all my myspace friends decide on the single. There’s gonna be a
Pick The Single Party/Concert in Orlando coming up soon and we’re going  to let the concert attendees pick their favorite song as my first
single.

*In 5 years, where do you see yourself?
Hopefully very well known in the music industry. Ultimately my dream is
to be an artist but also work behind the scenes in the music industry.
I’d really love to own a record label one day!

*If this were to all end tomorrow what is the ONE thing you’d have to
do before?

Win a Grammy hahaha

*What is your favorite thing to do outside of your music?
I don’t really have much time outside of music anymore but when I do I
really like to go to the movies and see my friends. I barely ever see
my friends anymore so I like to catch up with them whenever I get the
chance.

*Favorite place to shop?
I love Diesel, Urban Outfitters and Christian Audigier

*Message to your wonderful fans
Thank you guys for all the amazing support!  Without you none of this
would be happening for me. I’m getting a lot of attention from  big
names in the music industry and the number one thing I hear from these
people is “Look at the support this kids got”. So thank you guys for
everything!
